Agent Pleads Guilty In MySpace Case

Full story and MySpace profile:

Federal prosecutors announced Thursday afternoon that a former Border Patrol agent from Imperial pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing child pornography.

Anthony Ventura, 29, is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 7.

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent alleged in a document filed with the court that Ventura received an e-mail May 16, 2006, from Texas that contained two sexually explicit pictures of a girl between the ages of 15 and 17.

Federal authorities searched Ventura's computer after they arrested him in connection with an investigation of sexually explicit conversations he is alleged to have had with a 13-year-old girl on the social networking Web site in which he asked the girl to send him nude pictures of herself and arranged to meet her at a convenience store, the court document alleged.
