DNA Matches Sex Assault Suspect

Full story and MySpace profile:

North Valley man was ordered held on $200,000 bond for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman last year.

Toola O. Taylor, 32, of 1408 NE Perry Ave. appeared in Peoria County Circuit Court charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of criminal sexual assault. One of the aggravated sexual assault charges alleges Taylor had a gun at the time, meaning that if convicted, 15 years could be added to the base range of six to 30 years in prison.

Assistant State's Attorney David Kenny said the woman was at her sister's house when she was approached from behind, taken to a secluded area of the house and sexually assaulted. DNA recovered after the July 2006 incident matched up with samples Taylor had provided after previous convictions, the prosecutor said.
