Grad Student Nabbed In Net Sting

A Colorado State University graduate student accused of trying to lure an investigator posing as a 13- year-old girl into an online sexual relationship was released from Larimer County Jail on Tuesday after posting $25,000 bail.

David Michael Pepin, 37, of LaPorte, was arrested late Monday in Fort Collins by investigators from the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.

In August, in an Internet chatroom, a man contacted a Jeffco investigator who was posing as a teen named Kelly. He allegedly participated in a sexually explicit exchange that included two graphic pictures of a man's genitals, according to a warrant filed by the Jeffco DA's Office.
