Man Arrested In Internet Sting

Full story and MySpace profile:

The Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force claimed another arrest Friday, when a New Castle man was caught in an undercover online sex predator sting.

Michael Justin Bell, 27, made an initial appearance in court Monday on one count of attempted sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class B felony, three counts of child solicitation, Class C felonies, and one count of performance before a minor that is harmful to minors, a Class D felony. A Class B felony carries a possible prison sentence of between six and 20 years.

Undercover officer John Pirics of the Carmel Police Department said he began chatting online with Bell Sept. 7, posing as a 14-year-old girl living in the Carmel area.

“I was sent an instant message from a person using the screen name ‘stone_cold_bell,’” Pirics said in a probable cause affidavit.
