Man Arrested Over MySpace Threat

From 2006:

A 24-year-old Santa Rosa man self-surrendered to the Petaluma Police Department after allegedly making terrorist threats and annoying or molesting a juvenile girl, the Petaluma Police Department announced Friday.

The suspect, Bryce Austin, is accused of threatening to commit a violent sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl he met through the Web site Myspace.com.

Austin and the victim agreed to meet in person, after which she determined she did not want to continue the relationship, according to police.

The victim stopped communicating with the suspect, after which she allegedly received the threatening message on her phone from the suspect, police report.

Officers conducted an investigation into the threats and identified the suspect through his online profile on the Web site, Myspace.com
