Man Sentenced For Using MySpace To Lure Young Children

Kanai Gikonyo of Little Rock was sentenced in Saline County Circuit Court to an eight-year prison term for the Internet stalking of a child.

Gikonyo, 31, a student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, was convicted Wednesday by Circuit Judge Gary Arnold. Prosecuting Attorney Ken Casady said Arnold found Gikonyo guilty after the state presented evidence that the defendant had engaged in a sexually explicit conversation over the Internet with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

The girl was actually a law enforcement officer posing as a teenager.
