MySpace Foils Dead Man's Burglary

Full story and MySpace profile:

Two teens were arrested and charged with burglarizing a home, apparently after they failed to log off their MySpace account on a computer in the home.

The two 16-year-old stepbrothers were charged Monday with burglary and grand theft as well as violation of probation. Both were taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

According to an arrest affidavit, Timothy Barthlow reported Friday that someone had broken into the Northeast 39th Court home of his deceased stepfather and took two digital cameras, two bottles of wine and about $760 in cash.

While investigators from the Marion County Sheriff's Office were at the home conducting an investigation, Barthlow noticed the chair at the computer desk had been switched. When he touched the mouse to the computer, the screen saver turned off and the MySpace account of a person named "Spiders of Hearts" popped up on the screen, as well as pictures of the male, who was later identified by detectives as the youngest of the brothers. MySpace is a popular Web social site.

One suspect was identified as John Pachin.
