A sex offender who authorities said was given several chances to stay out of prison will now serve time.
Lubbock Judge Jim Bob Darnell of the 140th District Court sentenced 26-year-old Patrick Wong to five years in prison for violating the terms of his probation. Wong, a Texas Tech student, violated his probation by maintaining a MySpace account, not participating in sex offender counseling and possessing pornographic material, according to court documents.
He was placed on deferred adjudication in 2001 after he exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl in the toy aisle of Wal-Mart.
He was placed on probation in 2002 after failing to register as a sex offender.
