Police Warn Parents About Net Predator

Full story and MySpace profile:

Area police are asking parents to check with their teens about possible contact with a suspected Internet predator.

The Naperville Police Department and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force concluded a two-year investigation with charges against a 34-year-old Chicago resident, who may have contacted children in the Fox Valley.

Jason Cales, of the 3600 block of North Clark Street, was the subject of multiple Internet investigations across the United States, police said.

Among the areas where investigations took place were Naperville, Geneva and Lake County in Illinois, and other towns in New Jersey and Louisiana, police said. Cales is charged with four counts of distributing harmful material and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Police said Cales admitted using the Internet and a social networking site to search for underage girls and then ask them to engage in sexual conduct.

Additional victims were identified via the "friends" list on Cales' social networking site.

Naperville police are urging area parents to talk to their teens to see if they had contact with the following screen names: Preteenisbest@aol.com, WrigleyvilleJay@aol.com, and Officer_Jay_c@yahoo.com, or the MySpace account of Mattmurton2900@yahoo.com.
