Thanksgiving Spoiled By Child Sex Sting

Full story and MySpace profile:

A man who said he was an employee at a juvenile sex offender program studying to become a teacher was arrested late Tuesday after investigators say he tried to entice a minor over the Internet.

Grant Randall Tuft, 29, was arrested by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after he allegedly arranged a meeting for the purpose of having sex with who he thought was a 13-year-old girl. That minor, however, was really an undercover agent, said ICAC director Ken Wallentine.

Tuft is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of enticing a minor over the Internet.

Wallentine said the man told police after he was arrested that he was a senior at Southern Utah University majoring in education. He was visiting his parents for Thanksgiving in Salt Lake City when he tried to entice a minor on the Internet and was arrested about 10:30 p.m., police said.

In addition, the man told agents he worked at a youth facility in Cedar City that treats juvenile sex offenders, police said.
