MySpace Meeting Leads To Sexual Abuse Charges

An Illinois man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor after police say he had sex with a 15-year-old girl that he met on MySpace.

Steven Swiderski, of Oak Forest, is said to have initiated a series of e-mails with the girl after first meeting her on the site in April. Later, they arranged to meet at a park where the two had sex.

The case against Swiderski actually began after a relative of the girl noticed "inappropriate messages" on her MySpace and contacted her mother.

The mom later called police who then started their own investigation.

Swiderski was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and bond was set at $50,000.

  1. People should not Judge!! U dont know everything and everything u see is not what really happen. We need laws to help people again girl that wanna have sex. If we can charge 14,15,16 year old with murder as an adult. Then why cant we hold young girl that wanna have sex with older guy as the same. U be the Judge!!

  2. I thought you said not to judge though. I'm confused...

  3. A 24 year old should have the common sense not to engage in this type of behavior. Obviously he wasn't bright enough to understand that any comments he placed on this girls "page" could/would be seen by the whole world.

    Too bad.....

  4. well this is one big thing about all of this that i would love to understand, why are we not screening those who get onto myspace and facebook and all those other websites, this is bullshit how these kids get on here and put that they are 18, well if you seen half of them that get on, you would think they are 18 to, but lets not forget who is the real problem here, its the parents that dont do anything about it, they are asking for something to happen to there kids.

  5. This is sad. I feel bad for the poor kid. He's 24 she 15. I believe in true sex crimes. But i think depending on the fact we should give these kid a second chance. Not to make them a Sex Offender. He made a mistakes and he should get something but to be a Sex Offender would mess his whole life up. I believe depending on the age what happen and if the kid is good. Let him prove himself. I believe mistakes happen. Its just sad reading about this. Were is the mother at in this case. She has to be out of her mind not to be checking her kid myspace. Hope everything works out for u. If u read this.

  6. On my own behalf and i attempt to save my face from national humiliation i would like to give my own statement. She lied to me and told me that she was older. Her myspace said she was 18. She said her mother know all about me and wanted to meet me on 10 differnt days. This girl did not look young and there were no red flags of her being under age. if she had told me the truth i would have never even talked to her. and to add on to this... this is gender discrimination, i'm really the victom here and this is why: 1)i was lied to, 2)i lost my job over this, 3)i lost many of my close friend and co-worker 4)i'm looking at faceing jail time because she lied to me, and 5)i'm only 24 and if the courts decide that i'm not capeable to be social anymore then i would have to register myself as a sex offender for the next 10 years... now you tell me how that's fair while she gets to go on living her life lieing to other guys and screwing their lives up too. she's the one that should be delt with not me. I am so sorry for what i did and wish i would of never met or spoke to her on-line. I cant even look at myspace anymore. it make me feel bad that there are people out there that want to mess up your life. To my family, my gf and her family, and friend who are standing beside me. Im sorry. I made a mistake. And im willing to say that i did. But under lies she told me. I have never broke the law, never been to jail and have a B.A. and wanted to become a police officer. I will fight ever day to get past this and i know i will beat. This is my life we are talking about.

  7. Oh poor you! Let's not forget the fact that you also lied to her and told her you were 19 not to mention you cheated on your girlfriend. For someone that wants to be a police officer you are pretty stupid. Do yourself a favor. Go back to school because you don't know how to spell and act your age. If you did you wouldn't have been in this mess!!!!!!
Also if you lost friends over this then they must really know you well.

  9. the girl did not lie about her age, on the message it clearly said, 'dude im only 15' and he said i am 19. she did not lie about anything. her life has been a living hell since this whole thing started. he is the liar in all of this not her.

  10. Well Well, the Last 3 message must have been her friends. And why do i know that because they know all the fact. I know Steven very well. And im one of his best girlfriends he went to school with. And i have seen some of the text message she sent. If she's not a Liar then why was she begging him to come over and have sex with her. And why in the hell was she talking to 2 guys both in there 20's. HUMMMMMMMMM Get the hint. And texting him 15 times a day and calling him 20 times a day. Which he never called her. Thats what Phone records are for. So for the people in the last 3 message come to court for yourself and see what happen. U dont think his life has been a living hell. He's losing everthing. And for him losing friends, shit happen people come and go. But u face these charges and see how many friends stand behind u.

  11. WOW! Some people never seem to amaze me. You want us to feel sorry for him. You call her the liar. Well let me enlighten you. The other 2 guys she was talking to as I can see are not the ones that have been arrested. It was your boyfriend. Maybe next time he goes to meet someone he met online he will ask for an ID. He is responsible for his actions and if it means going to jail and having his face plastered on the sex offender registery then he has no one to blame but himself. Not too many people are coming to that Pity party you are throwing for him. Another thing.....We know the facts because it was all over the news and the newspapers. Where do you think they got their information from? The arrest report idiot!!!!!!

  12. How pathetic! Just be a man and take the punishment!

  13. WOW U are right some people never seem to amaze me. Like u. U have to be the dumb to think it is all his fault. Well im here to tell u it not. Maybe she should learn to put her right age on myspace. If she did tell him her real age, her myspace age is not her real age so what should he believe. The person to blame here is her parents. Where the hell were they. I dont have kids but im pretty sure when i do and they have a myspace i will check it all the time. And not to check her phone. So are the parents just letting this girl do whatever she want and then when she gets caught up in something to mess up someone's life. I believe that is wrong. And other funny thing is that i called every news crew in Chicago about this case and not one of them know about it. But it was in one paper the southtown. SO were are u getting your fact. There's no need to talk about it because thats what the courts are for.

  14. If I didn't know any better it appears to me that the individual charged is the one that wrote the last message. Either that or you are as dumb as he is. You are right though... Let the courts decide. I'm betting on a conviction...anyone want it on it?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well for the last comment. For u, u need to learn to get it right. It go's "Anyone want in on it" I dont believe it will be a conviction. He should get something. But not to mess his whole life up over it. She was a part of it just as he was. If she was calling him all the time should she be charge for Harassment or Stalking. If she sent him Sexual text message and wanted it. Should she be charge with the same thing. The court will be the judge. I believe ever case is different. So u should not be so sure about he will get a conviction. U dont know.

  16. STEVEN IS NOT GUILTY!!!!!!!!! HE WILL WIN THIS CASE. SO FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO DONT BELIEVE IN HIM GET A LIFE. BECASUE WAIT TO IT HAPPENS TO YOUR FAMILY AND EVERONE WANTS THAT PERSON LIFE MESSED UP. GO STEVEN!!!! U WILL WIN!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. STEVEN IS GUILTY!!!!! He is the one that went by her and had sex. So how can you say he is not guilty. Let's not forget she is a minor. Regardless of how many times she called him or text him he still physically went over to her neighborhood not once but twice and had sex with her. He obviously didn't feel he was harassed or stalked. If you ask me I think he enjoyed the attention.
A comment for the last post.....I don't have anyone in my family that is a pervert, so I will never experience it!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. U are right he did go over there!! He went there twice but only had sex once. But she wanted the Attention or she would of not called him. And I believed he never called her. She may be a minor, but she has had sex before. She should know right from wrong. Her myspace say she is 100 years old right now. She wants everyone to see her pofile. She really wants the attention. So why should his life be messed up for something she wanted, and just because he didn't talk to her she wants to mess up his life. I'm sorry that's wrong. She know what she was doing they both messed up as I can see so they both just need to move forward from this. And put it behind them.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ok for the second to last comment. what u said was "LETS NOT FORGET SHE IS A MINOR". So if she wanted to have sex with him we should mess up his life?? Your statement is saying to all MINOR that they can do whatever they want and get away with it. So if they kill someone, rob someone, take or sell drug. Just becasue they are MINOR we should let them go. Hummmmm that is wrong. To many young girls are haveing sex with these older guys and as soon as theys guy stop talking to them they want to mess up there life. But we are here in Chicago and the burbs these girl know right from wrong and they know what there doing because they see it all the time. They see sex, drugs, gun, crime all the time. So if she had anything to do with it, then why mess up his life. OH WAIT THATS RIGHT BECAUSE SHE A MINOR!!! And why call him a pervert. U dont know him. So becasue she wanted to have sex he's a pervert. What is she then?? Thats all i have to say. I think he will beat this and best of luck.

  20. Steven needs to take resonsibility for once in his life. As far as the girlfriend sticking by him, got to hand it to her. She wasnt good enough so he had to go out looking in the first place.

  21. okay, its none of anyones business in whats going on with the case so how about everyone just shut the fuck up about it cuz if you dont know whats happening, you need to leave it alone k thanks?

  22. So, how's it going Great One? Still making the arguement that it's not your fault???

    Good luck with that...
